Dr. Watters has undertaken a variety of consulting and industry roles in recent years, including:

• Presentation of a workshop on future Internet technologies and their implications for child pornography investigations to Taskforce Argos (Queensland Police) and the Australian Federal Police.
• Appointment to the Standards Australia IT-032 Biometrics and Identification Committee .
• Presentation of the Black Cyber Capital 2010 workshop to the Australian Federal Police, Victoria Police, Australian Taxation Office, and Office of National Assessments.
• Acting as an expert witness in the Federal course case of ADI Limited vs Advanced Data Integration Pty Ltd (N1991 of 2003).
